Overview

Custom domains allow your organization to use branded URLs for Wave profiles and other resources. Once configured, all organization profiles will be accessible via your domain, using the format: yourdomain.com/username.

How It Works

  1. Add a Domain

    • Organization admins can add a custom domain from the Security tab in organization settings.

  2. Verify Ownership

    • You’ll be prompted to add two DNS records:

      • TXT Record: Confirms domain ownership.

      • CNAME Record: Points your domain to the Wave platform.

    • Exact record values are provided in the setup modal.

  3. Update DNS Settings

    • Log in to your DNS provider (e.g. GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Google Domains).

    • Add the TXT and CNAME records as instructed.

  4. Wait for DNS Propagation

    • Changes may take up to 24 hours to propagate.

    • The system will periodically check for verification.

  5. Domain Activation

    • Once both records are verified, your domain becomes active.

    • All organization profiles will now be accessible via the custom domain.

Setup Guide

  1. Go to Organization Settings > Security and click Add domain.

  2. Enter your domain (e.g. yourcompany.com).

  3. Add the provided TXT and CNAME records to your DNS provider’s control panel.

  4. Click Validate to check DNS status.

  5. Once validated, your domain will be marked as Valid configuration.

Troubleshooting

  • DNS Not Detected: Ensure both records are added correctly. Wait for DNS propagation (up to 24 hours).

  • Domain Already in Use: A domain can only be linked to one organization at a time.

  • SSL/HTTPS: Wave automatically provisions SSL certificates for verified domains.
